For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those WHO RECEIVE [God's] OVERFLOWING GRACE (unmerited favor) and the FREE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS [putting them into right standing with Himself] REIGN AS KINGS in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Because of what Jesus did on the cross for us, He took away the effect and power of death and therefore death is no longer reigning, has no more power over us and has been overcome. According to Romans 5:17 the way we overcome and reign over any form of death in our lives is to receive God's overflowing grace(abundance of grace as other translations put it) and the free gift of righteousness.
Righteousness is being accepted by God, acceptable to God, blameless, without any sickness, lack, inferiority or fear. Another word for righteousness is virtue, which means power, which means when you got born again, you became righteous (good enough, accepted, approved) before God (Romans 8:33), which gives you the power to live free from sickness, defeat, lack fear, depression and any form of death and it gives you the power to affect every situation or circumstances around you. You righteousness before God give you authority to be bold and speak to situations and bring life to those situations.
This victory, and the power we have received is all because of God's great and intense love for us and not our performance (our good or bad behavior).
Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

Meditate on this today:
You reign over every sickness, disease, lack, death, fear because of receiving His abundance of Grace and the free gift of righteousness
Because you are right(righteous) before God you have the Power and authority to change situations and circumstances.
Because of God's great and intense love for you, have you now become more than a conquerer and have a surpassing victory.
