Think about this for a moment?
Do you want to be strong, immovable, undaunted and confident no matter how good or bad your circumstances are? Do you think this is possible?
YES! YES! YES! It is more than possible, let me show you how.
Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Hebrews 13:9 KJV
What is the heart? It is your thoughts, will and emotions. So when Hebrews 13:9 says the heart being established in grace, it means that your thoughts, will and emotions are established in grace. To be established (strong and stable) in something you need to know what it is, so what is Grace? Grace is God's unmerited, undeserved favour and goodness towards you independent of your performance. In simple words it's God love, kindness, favour, value towards you, and it's His acceptance of you, His pleasure in you and His ability in you and all of this is not based on what you do or don't do, but based on what Jesus has done and accomplished for you on the cross. So to be strong in grace means to be strong in what Jesus has accomplished for us on the cross.
In Hebrews 13:9 it says that "it's a good thing the heart is established with grace", so we can make the conclusion that it is not good for the heart if it's not established in grace. So what does it mean to be established? Think about it for a moment..... To be established means to to make firm, to establish, to confirm, make sure, to be sure, to be strengthened, and to be steadfast. This shows us that when your heart knows, and is convinced of, relies on and trusts in Grace then you will be made firm, be established, it will confirm your true identity, you will be sure, strengthened and be steadfast(immovable and consistent).
Therefore to be strong in grace you need to have an inward flow of Grace, which means to operate and give grace you need to receive grace. We will continue in our next encouragement on how to have a strong flow in grace. This shows us that WE CAN BE STRONG, IMMOVABLE & UNDAUNTED no matter how good or bad our circumstances are.
