Everything you need is already inside of you!

Can something be revealed to you that doesn't already exist?

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

Ephesians 1:17 NKJV

In the above bible verse Paul (one of the leaders in the church) is praying that God may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. So this might seem contrary to what was said in Ephesians 1:8, where it tells us God has already given us in abundance His wisdom and the practical knowledge on how to apply that wisdom. So why would Paul pray for something God has already given to us in abundance? That's like asking asking for something you already have. When you believed on Jesus you received with it ALL the wisdom and faith you will ever need (See Romans 12:3), and all of this is deposited in your spirit. You are walking around with all the faith, and wisdom inside of you to be successful in everything you do.

You might be asking how do I operate in this faith and wisdom I already have?

This is exactly what Paul was praying for. You cannot operate in something if you don't know that you already have it. This takes away a lot of doubt and frustration and it's easier to release something that you already have than trying to get it. So Paul was praying that you would receive the wisdom and the revelation of what is already yours in Christ, (inside of you), so that you can release it and walk in it.

So how do you know what is already yours and how do you walk in it or release it?

Let's look at the verse below:

Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to UNDERSTAND and ACCEPT what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.

Romans 12:2 ERV

In the above verse, we can see that as you allow God to show you through His Word what is already yours and you choose to receive it and let it change the way you think, you will start walking in and living in what is already yours. So let God show you today, through His Word, what you already have on the inside of you and who you already are as His child.
