Ephesians 1:8-9 NKJV
Do you know what God's will is for your life? Do you think that He is hiding His will, plan or purpose for you and you need to figure it out?
Looking at Ephesians 1:8, what does it mean to abound? It means to superabound (in quantity or quality), be in excess, to excel, to have abundance. In Ephesians 1:8-9 it's telling us that God's grace has given us all wisdom and prudence to make known to us what His will is for us and walk in it. Prudence is knowledge and wisdom is the practical application of that knowledge. Now God's grace made God's wisdom and prudence (knowledge) abound toward us and made God's will known to us, which means that God's grace has provided and made available in excessive quality and quantity, more than enough knowledge and practical wisdom about His will for you and how to walk out His will for your life. This is awesome! This shows you, that you already have all the knowledge and the practical wisdom(in living out practically) God's plan and purpose for your life available to you. Therefore you can excel in the will, plan and purposes that God has for you. All you need to do is receive by faith (as yours) what God's Grace has already made available to you and have given to you.
The latter part of Ephesians 1:9 shows us that God made his will known to us according to His good pleasure. Good pleasure shows us that God delighted, took pleasure in and it satisfied Him in making His will, plan and purpose known to us. It further shows us its according to His good pleasure. According to means in proportion to, and in Ephesians 1:7-8 it shows us that it is in portion to His grace that has abounded toward us. What this all means is, God overflowed excessively with delight, pleasure and satisfaction in giving you the knowledge about His plan purposes and will for your life and the wisdom in how to practically live that out on a daily basis. God isn't withholding anything from you, He wants you to walk more in your purpose than what you want to. Receive this knowledge and wisdom today about God's will, plan and purpose for your life and start walking in the good things he has planned and purposed for you.
