WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT? WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT TO YOU and how do think He will treat you?
It's very important to KNOW and BELIEVE the correct knowledge about someone's heart, nature and character otherwise you won't trust them and you won't understand their purpose and intentions towards you. Let's see who is the Holy Spirit really.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever–
John 14:16 AMPC
The above verse speaks about God giving us the Holy Spirit and who the Holy Spirit is; His Identity. Firstly we can see that the Holy Spirit is a COMFORTER, that means He brings comfort to one's heart in times of trouble and pain.His heart is not out to hurt you but to bring comfort. Secondly The Holy Spirit is the COUNSELOR, so when you don't know how to deal with a situation or circumstance, He wants to give wise counsel (wise guidance and direction) on how to deal with your situation or circumstance that produces life and peace. Thirdly the Holy Spirit is a HELPER, this shows us the Holy Spirit is there to help us and lift us up and out of our situation and to help us overcome our situation. He is not there to put us down and tell us how wrong we are and condemn us, or accuse us, because that's not going to help no one. Accusation and condemnation is the voice of the devil NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Furthermore it show us the Holy Spirit is our advocate, you might be thinking why do I need an advocate? So when anyone or the devil wants to accuse you or tell you or make you feel that you are guilty before God and He won't accept you. The Holy Spirit is there as your advocate to show you (point you to The Truth) that you have been made right with and before God. Lastly The Holy Spirit is our STRENGTHENER, which show us again He doesn't want to put us down but to strengthen us and enable us by giving us power to overcome every situation! We can see through this verse, that THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR YOU and not against you!
