You have constant ASSURANCE & GUARANTEE that you are God's beloved child.

who is the GUARANTEE of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 1:14 NKJV

In Ephesians 1:11 we looked at how God's inheritance for you can be defined and we saw that His inheritance for you can be defined as your destiny. We further looked at and saw that God's destiny and His choice and plan was for you is to become His child and be the focus of His love and affection. In Ephesians 1:14 it carries on from us as believers in Jesus being eternally secure to the guarantee we have of our inheritance through the Holy Spirit.

So what is an inheritance? What must happen for someone to be able to receive an inheritance? Think about that. Inheritance is the possession or valuables of someone given to a family member or a person of their choice after they pass away. For a person to receive an inheritance, the person who is giving their possessions needs to die first for it to be legally transferred. An inheritance also shows the heart of the person giving the inheritance towards the person receiving the inheritance.

So, Jesus died on the cross for your past, present and future sins and made you clean from all sins, failures and mistakes. When you believed that He died for you on the cross, you became His child and were brought into God's family and received an inheritance that is rightfully yours. Inheritance can't be worked for, it has to be received and it only becomes someones because of the death of the person giving the inheritance. We can see that Jesus was willing to die to give us everything that belongs to Him. So what is the inheritance that Jesus gave us and we now have? Firstly in Ephesians 1:14 it tells us that the Holy spirit is the gaurentee of our inheritance. With that in mind, let's look at the following verse.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 8:14 NKJV

This verse shows us that because we have the Holy Spirit and we allow Him to lead us we are God's children. Therefore we can see that part of our inheritance is that the Holy Spirit will always lead you and show you that you are God's beloved child and that you already have everything you need and more with no lack in any area of your life. God gave this to you as a love gift. The Holy Spirit will also show you that you are no longer a slave trying to work for or earn anything from God. You will always be reminded by the Holy Spirit of your sonship/daughtership that is forever secure and therefore you have everything you need.
